Panalucent LLC — CircumFlight. Effective 1 September 2026.
This policy covers the CircumFlight application and the online services we provide through it. CircumFlight is a product of Panalucent LLC.
Our business is providing services to pilots, and you pay for them with a subscription. That is the arrangement, and it decides everything else here. What we know about you is used to serve you — by us, inside this app. It is not sold, it is not rented, it is not handed to anyone else to use for their own purposes, and nobody but us gets to decide what to show you because of it.
Businesses do appear in the app, because they are part of the airport — an FBO's name on its own building in the 3D view, a fuel price, a listing. That is information about a place, shown to every user alike, and nothing about you is passed to the business because you saw it. Where a business wants to do more than be on the map, it goes through us; see Offers, and who may reach you below.
The app collects information only to do the things you have turned on. A feature that needs something from you — your position, a photo, the microphone — asks for it when you enable that feature, says there what it is for, and your device asks your permission before the app can have it. Turning a feature off stops the collection that went with it. We do not collect something because it might be useful later.
The list below matches the privacy manifest included in the app, category for category. If you have seen the App Store privacy labels for this app, this is the same set in plain language.
Everything that reaches you inside CircumFlight comes from us. We may use what we know about you — for example that you have visited a particular airport before — to bring you an offer from us or from a business we have chosen to work with: a return-visit incentive, a service at a destination, a product we think fits how you fly. The rules for any such offer are these:
Some features send your position or your track to people you choose — sharing a flight, showing that you are at an airport, letting particular users see where you are. Every such feature is off until you turn it on, describes at that point what it discloses and to whom, and can be turned off again at any time. That description is the authority for what the feature shares. We do not disclose your position to any business or to any other user except as you have directed.
We may study patterns across many flights and many users to improve what the app tells everyone — for example where aircraft commonly hold on a taxiway, or how busy a ramp is at a given hour. This uses only data the app already has because of features you use; nothing additional is collected for it. The results are aggregated and de-identified, and we do not publish them in a form that identifies you, your aircraft or an individual trip. We treat aircraft registration marks as identifying and do not publish them as part of this data.
We do not read or scan your private messages or private airport chat conversations. There is one exception, and it exists because we are required to act on reports: when a recipient reports a message, that message and a small number of the messages around it are shared with our moderation review so the report can be judged in context.
Any photo, comment, message, chat post or profile can be reported from inside the app. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Reported content is restricted while it is being checked, and content that violates our terms is removed. We keep a record of reports and of the decisions made on them, including who reported what, so that repeated abuse and repeated bad-faith reporting can both be recognised.
Airport chat is deliberately short-lived. A chat post is removed from the service seven days after it is written, or ten days if a late public reply extends its thread.
Where content is reported for child safety, we preserve it as United States law requires, report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), and retain the reported material and the associated report for one year.
You can delete your account from inside the app, under your profile. Deleting your account removes your profile, your photos, your posts and your messages from the live service within 30 days.
Two things survive deletion, and we would rather say so than surprise you. Backups are retained on a fixed schedule and are overwritten in the ordinary course rather than edited, so a copy may persist in backup for a limited period after deletion. And airport survey contributions that have already been published under an open licence cannot be recalled from the people who received them; we stop using them going forward, but published copies remain available under the licence they were published under. This is described in the EULA.
You can also delete individual photos, posts and chat messages at any time without deleting your account, and that continues to work whether or not you hold a subscription.
CircumFlight is rated 16+ and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@circumflight.com and we will delete it.
Your data is stored on servers we operate in the United States. We use Apple's services for sign-in, payment and push notifications, and we use other companies to run parts of the service for us — hosting, content delivery, crash reporting. Those companies act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes. That is not a sale and we do not treat it as one.
Prepared datasets — charts, procedures, terrain, weather and imagery, the same files every subscriber receives — are delivered through content delivery networks with servers in many countries, so those files may be cached anywhere in the world. They contain no personal information. Your messages, your photos, your position and your trips are not distributed this way.
Beyond that, we share your personal information only where the law requires it, where it is necessary to act on a report of abuse, or where you have asked us to.
You can view, correct or delete your information from inside the app. For anything the app does not let you do yourself, including a copy of your information, write to support@circumflight.com and we will answer. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR.
These commitments bind Panalucent LLC and anyone who ever acquires control of it, whether by investment, merger, sale or otherwise. Your information is not an asset that can be separated from these terms: a successor takes it only on these terms, and an investor or other interest in Panalucent acquires no right to it. If control of Panalucent changes, we will tell you in the app before the transfer takes effect, and you will be able to delete your account first.
If we change this policy we will change the effective date above, and we will tell you in the app when the change is one that matters to you. No change weakens the commitments in You are the customer, not the product, What we do not do, Offers, and who may reach you or Investors, successors and changes of control for information we already hold about you: a change that would loosen any of them applies only to information collected after it takes effect, and is announced in the app with time for you to delete your account before it does.
